"The
Forks of the Ohio"by Martin Clayton is a fast-moving and humorous mystery
novel. It begins with an Englishman, Mike Huntingden,
unhappy with everything about his life, who flies to the USA
in search of himself, and a new beginning.
On the flight
he meets an attractive young American, but their very
promising friendship proves very short-lived, when,
within hours of landing, she is
murdered. Mike soon realises he is a prime suspect, and
as panic strikes, his intuition tells him to
run from the authorities. He must work out who is the
murderer, and who he can trust, before he can address
his own future.
This book is set in the ‘rust belt’ of Pennsylvania and
Ohio, against the backdrop of old values and hardship
encountering new prosperity.
